Internode Broadband ADSL Summary

All of our ADSL plans provide a comprehensive array of included services - from complimentary dialup accounts to personal webspace and global roaming. The differences between the various access options are summarised in the table below.

Access Options

Internode broadband services are delivered to your place via one of the following access options:

ADSL Standard and ADSL Plus

These leverage the extensive coverage of the Telstra Wholesale ADSL network. We use this network to connect from your place to our nearest facility - where we then connect you to the Internet via the Internode international network, and provide you with a range of Internet services such as email, online games, radio streams and more.

You'll still need to continue to rent your traditional telephone service from a third party in order to receive an Internode ADSL Standard or ADSL Plus service. Additionally, you select:

• the speed of your service from a range of ADSL Standard options - such as 256/64 kbps, 512/128 kbps, 512/512 kbps or 1500/256 kbps - or select ADSL Plus for speeds of up to 8M/384 kbps;
• the plan type - Home, SOHO or Business - more on this later; and
• the monthly download amount. If you're not sure then start with an entry plan, and upgrade it later on (there's no charge for changing your monthly quota) if you need to.
  

Extreme® ADSL2+

These higher speed services are delivered via the Internode ADSL network. As with ADSL Standard and ADSL Plus, you still need to rent a traditional telephone service from a third party. Our network is available in all capital cities, and is rapidly expanding.

You don't need to specify a speed with Extreme® ADSL2+ services - they run as fast as possible. Hence the choices are simply the type of plan (Home, SOHO or Business) and the monthly download quota.

NakedExtreme ADSL2+

We've recently launched our 'naked' version of Extreme® ADSL2+ - called NakedExtreme ADSL2+ - with all the benefits of Extreme® ADSL2+, plus:

• extended range - eliminating many 'transmission loss too high' broadband blackspots; and
• delivering the upload boost of ADSL2+ Annex M (SOHO and Business plans); and
• all this without the need to rent a traditional telephone service!

As a special offer for NakedExtreme ADSL2+ customers, you can also select our fully featured NodePhone2 voice-over-IP solution - and receive $10 of calls every month, at no additional charge!

Naked ADSL2+

This product combines the large coverage of the Optus Wholesale ADSL network, with high speed ADSL2+ technology. It's naked - just like NakedExtreme ADSL2+ - so you no longer need to rent a traditional telephone service.

This saves you money on phone line rental, and is perfect if you're making the move across to the cost savings of voice-over-IP, and/or the convenience of mobile phones.

Our great value NodePhone2-Special plan is also available to Naked ADSL2+ customers - with $10 of included calls per month at no additional charge - that's really saving you money!

Internode Ultra

Just launched is our innovative new service - delivering high speed ADSL2+; a traditional home telephone service with great call rates; and NodePhone2 voice over IP in one convenient package - Internode Ultra.

This integrated solution also benefits from $10 of included VoIP calls every month at no extra charge, and is widely available across Australia via the Optus Wholesale network.

WiMax Wireless DSL

Exclusive to residents of Yorke Peninsula and The Coorong regions of South Australia, these WiMax fixed wireless broadband services fill a unique requirement in delivering metro-equivalent broadband to remote customers beyond the reach of ADSL.

What Can I Get?

Simply enter your phone number in our online coverage checker. The results will indicate whether you can obtain ADSL Standard & ADSL Plus; Extreme® ADSL2+; Naked ADSL2+; NakedExtreme ADSL2+ and/or Internode Ultra.

The next step is to choose the Internet plan that suits your requirements; and decide whether you need to retain a traditional home phone service or not.

Can I Keep My Telephone Number?

This is a important question for many people.

• With an ADSL Standard, ADSL Plus or Extreme ADSL2+ service, you need to rent a telephone service in order to receive the ADSL service. So, inherently, you keep your telephone number.
• With a Naked ADSL2+ or NakedExtreme ADSL2+ service, no telephone service is required to 'carry' the ADSL2+. So unless you continue to rent your traditional telephone service (on a separate copper pair), you won't keep your telephone number. We intend to support the 'porting' of existing telephone numbers from the traditional phone networks into our NodePhone® VoIP service, but that facility is not yet available.
• Internode Ultra includes both a traditional telephone service and a high speed ADSL2+ service. The majority of customers will be able to simply port their existing telephone number to Internode Ultra.

Our Broadband Development Timeline

To help put these options into context, here's our timeline for broadband ADSL product development:

1. Today : Internode ADSL Standard, ADSL Plus and Extreme® ADSL2+ have all been in production for many years.
   
2. Naked ADSL2+ via New Service connections - installing on a separate copper pair - was launched on a national basis in March 2008.
3. Naked ADSL2+ via Convert Service connections - changing your existing phone line into a Naked ADSL2+ service - followed soon after, in April 2008.
4. Naked ADSL2+ via Churn connections - from other service providers using the same access platform - was made available from July 2008.
5. NakedExtreme ADSL2+ via Convert Service connections - delivering longer distance connections with Annex L and high upload performance on SOHO and Business plans via Annex M - was launched in August 2008.
   
6. NakedExtreme ADSL2+ via New Service connections - was made available in November 2008, with other connection modes for this service planned for future release.
   
7. Internode Ultra ADSL2+ - a complete package of traditional phone service (including number porting), voice-over-IP and high speed ADSL2+ - has just been launched.
8. Number porting into NodePhone® - so you can retain your existing phone number while enjoying the cost benefits of VoIP with a Naked ADSL2+ or NakedExtreme ADSL2+ service - completes this phase of broadband ADSL product development.

Plan Options

Different customers have different requirements from their broadband service. Across any of the current broadband ADSL and ADSL2+ access options, you can choose from the following plan types:

• Home ADSL and Home Ultra plans are the ideal choice for the residential customer, and deliver cost-effective broadband at a fixed monthly price.
• SOHO ADSL and SOHO Ultra plans are targeted at Internet professionals and small businesses. These plans retain the fixed monthly price, and add the benefits of a static IP address and more generous excess shaping.
• Business ADSL and Business Ultra are our premium broadband plans. These provide business customers with the certainty of consistently high speed and priority business support, backed by our Silver service level agreement.
